Dancing bells Also known as Ghungroo, the dancing bells play an integral role for the Indian classical dancers. It consists of small metallic balls that are tied together, usually on a velvet base and tied to the anklet of the classical dancers to accentuate the footwork of the dancers. Apart from the classical dances like Bharat Natyam, Kathak, Oddissi or Kuchipudi, dancing bells are also seen in folk dances like Bihu, Bhangra, Garba, Chau, Lavani etc. In fact, it has its recognition in the Indian film industries as well.
